MESSAGE FROM THE EDITORIAL TEAM

Sustainability:

It’s Personal

At Magna, our definition of sustainability includes the preservation of planet earth’s air, land and water but it also recognizes the essential intersection of environmental, social and economic sustainability.

In this issue, you will gain a sense of the commitment to sustainability at Magna and the broad scope of our efforts. We have Magna products that reduce waste, weight, fuel consumption, and CO2 emissions and others that increase recyclability and safety. In Italy, a Magna plant parking lot generates electricity and in the United States our material science gurus dream of making a liftgate from recycled plastic bottles.  Magna India facilities use recycled wastewater from treated sewage to grow fruit and vegetables onsite while Magna employees, and divisions in Austria and Germany, are helping increase the bee population.

Magna employees around the world have taken sustainability to heart and every day demonstrate their personal commitment to making an impact at work and at home.  We hope these stories will inspire you to do the same.
